*Must be available between the hours of 3pm to 9.30pm on days worked normally, however there is opportunity for daytime; evening and weekend working – to be discussed at interview stage

About the role

We are inviting applications from dynamic, forwarding thinking Youth and Play workers across our ten sites (5 youth centres and 5 adventure playgrounds) in the Lewisham borough.

We are specifically seeking those who see youth and playwork as a vocation and who share our passion for supporting young people to become successful and resilient adults.  This role is for those that understand the wide ranging challenges facing young people and can flexibly adjust their practice to actively and demonstrably meet these needs.  

About you

  • Experience of direct work with young people, their families in formal and informal settings i.e. one to one, group work, outreach and detached work is essential to the role
  • Educated to Level 2 or above qualification in Youth and Community work or equivalent in teaching or coaching along with substantial experience of working directly with young people
  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to plan, deliver and evaluate structured programmes of activities with young people organising including accredited programmes.
