More about Ladywell Fields

Ladywell Adventure Playground was built in 2008 with help from the Big Lottery Fund. The funding gave a fantastic opportunity to build an adventure playground in a popular public park. Staff, with the help of young people, built the playground themselves and like many sites, continues to evolve as new waves of young people join and progress through its gates.

The team at Ladywell aim to bring a focus on the life skills necessary for young people to flourish. They have built a community that prides itself on the inclusion of all.

The playground has a range of unique facilities including a large sandpit, a vegetable garden and an outdoor theatre space. When the park is wet or dark, young people can head indoors to engage in a number of activities including cooking, table tennis, pool, and arts and crafts.

There is also a small cinema and even a couple of aquariums. Ladywell is truly an APG at the centre of its community with a team ready to work with young people to try new and exciting activities. In the past few years this has even included a soap box derby racing team.

The adventure playground is partially accessible and the building is fully accessible. Please contact staff to discuss any specific needs.
