Climate Home Festival: Mind My Space - Double Bill

A night exploring mental health and creativity, through theatre and discussion.

Two original performances: in Drilling Diamonds, local young people tell dynamic stories of Lewisham life through imagined characters, drill music and film, devised by Lewisham College students and directed by Playing On. Do You Mind?  is a new piece devised by the Sounds Like Chaos collective and directed by Young Associates’ Faruq Adigun and Indie Max. For ages 13+.

Drilling Diamonds:

Young people from Lewisham have been taking part in Playing ON’s Drilling Diamonds programme using improvised drama to develop characters, which they will present with acting and music, telling a story of Lewisham life.  Luna yearns to become a singer and join a music course but her father thinks that the arts are a waste of time.  Simon has been staying with them since being kicked out by his mum and thinks that Luna should pursue her passion and her father should chill out.  Alex and Sarah have split up but now a baby is on the way perhaps they should rethink things?  All the while voices and shadows from the past remind us that we all carry the struggles of our ancestors.  Should we follow our dreams or should we play it safe?

Do You Mind?

I can tell you it all but you’ll never get the full picture. You could watch me a thousand times but you still will never see what’s happening inside… so, do you mind?

Who suffers from Mental Health and how do we measure that?

How do we stretch and train not just our bodies but our minds? Lets embark on a journey following two athletes experiencing unique sets of challenges. Through them we will critically explore the ways we deal with mental wellbeing

This is an exploration of our generation; of information, and realisation. One of finding a path, or indeed, creating your own.
