Chair of Youth First (Voluntary)
31st January 2020
Location: London Borough of Lewisham
Youth First is a community benefit society that spun out of Lewisham Council's youth service in 2016. The organisation was born from the passion of both the staff and the Council to create a means to sustain, and ideally, grow youth provision in Lewisham. The staff and young people are the owners of the not-for-profit organisation and are directly involved in management, which means that Youth First is truly young person centred and has a committed workforce.
Our organisation provides youth activities to over 5,000 young people every year, delivered by over 50 directly-employed staff. Alongside direct delivery we work with a range of partners and organisations who share the same values and aspirations to deliver youth provision across the borough of Lewisham.
Starting an exciting new phase of our journey, we are now seeking to recruit a Chair of the Board who will offer strong ambassadorial skills. With a solid track record of providing leadership at board and/or senior executive level, you will also have a commercial eye and vision for the future. You will also bring experience in engaging stakeholders and a passion for networking with the community.
If you wish to make a difference to the borough of Lewisham and can offer energy and enthusiasm then we would like to hear from you.
Youth First is fully committed to equality of opportunity and diversity to ensure that we reflect the full breadth of the people we aim to support. We warmly welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates.
