Universal Safety Programme
An interactive workshop series for young people aged 8-19, exploring a variety of topics that will support them in;
- making informed choices
- developing their critical thinking
- staying safe
- develop healthy relationships on and offline
- gaining tools to manage their wellbeing
- gaining tools to manage their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours
Sessions will take place every Wednesday and Thursday from January. Don't worry if you haven't attended a session before, you are welcome to join one session or all of them.

Schedule: Wednesdays & Thursdays, 5:30pm-7pm

Note: Sessions are running on two days of the week to ensure as many young people as possible can join. Both days will go through the same sessions, exploring a unique topic for that week. You are invited to join either day, whichever is most convenient for you.

Week 1: Healthy Relationships
Participants will examine the characteristics and benefits of healthy relationships and the characteristics of unhealthy relationships. Young people how to deal with harmful behaviours.
Week 2: Sexual harrassment
Participants will explore Sexual Harassment. The definition, characteristics and impact of sexual harassment relating to young people alongside tools to stay safe.
Week 3: Risk
Participants will gain an understanding of risk and the different forms of risk. The workshop explores the impact risk can have on young people if they do not make informed healthy choices.
Week 4: CSE
Participants will explore and understand the definition of CSE and grooming alongside the associated signs/behaviours that lead to CSE. The participants will be able to recognise how young people are affected by CSE and how to stay safe.
Week 5: Mental health
Explore participants understanding of mental health and the different forms of mental health that affect young people and how to maintain good mental health.
Week 6: Sex and sexual health
Explore participants level of understanding around sexual health. To increase and young people’s knowledge of contraception and knowledge of STI's.
Week 7: Knife crime
Explore the nature of knife crime and provide a greater understanding of the myths surrounding gang culture alongside how to stay safe.
